Before setting up experiment, make sure you have the following equipment:
Geophone X24
Tape measure (long, in units of meters)
Data Logger X2
Data Logger Battery X2
Geophone Cable X3
Laptop Computer Bag (ReMi) with Ethernet Cable and connector to Geophone Cables
Flags (optional)
***For measuring shear wave velocity to a depth of 30 meters, it is recommended to have an minimum array length of 60 meters.
Set-up
1. Use tape measure to line out targeted distance
2. Divide targeted distance by 23 as spacing for each geophone
Install geophones in calculated spacing
Connect geophones to cables
3. Connect data loggers to data logger batteries and connect data loggers to cables
4. Connect laptop computer and cable with Ethernet cable connector
5. Open computer program: Ex6 and follow this list of commands
